How to apply for SSC CGL?
The application process to apply for SSC CGL 2022 is very simple. Before filling the online application form, please read the eligibility criteria and exam details.
Follow these steps to apply for SSC CGL exam:
Step-I : Go to the official website of Staff Selection Commission www.ssc.nic.in
Step-II : Here is the direct online application link. Click Here. Read all instruction carefully and start filling the online application form. Make sure all information you have entered are correct.
Step-III: After filling all required information, upload your scanned photograph and signature in prescribed format.
Step-IV : After uploading the documents, you would be asked to pay application fees. Make the payment as per your convenience.
Step-V : After successful payment, Review the application form and see all the information are filled. If all the information is right, then click submit.

What is SSC exam eligibility?
An aspirant need to abide by these 4 important criteria decided by the Staff Selection Commission for SSC CGL 2022.
1. Nationality:
The candidate must be a Citizen of either India or Nepal or Bhutan. If a candidate is a citizen of Nepal or Bhutan shall have a Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Government of India in favour of him/her.
2. Educational Qualification (As on 23-01-2022)

4. Physical Fitness Requirements:
Apart from the above, there are certain requisite Physical Standards for Inspector (Central Excise/ Examiner/Preventive Officer), Sub-Inspector in CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Sub-Inspector in NIA (National Investigation Agency)
SSC CGL Selection Process:
Candidates are selected on the basis of marks they have secured in their respective category as mentioned below.
SSC CGL 2022 exam pattern:
SSC CGL 2022 Examination will be conducted in four stages called Tiers as indicated below:
- Tier-I: Computer Based Examination (CBT)
- Tier-II: Computer Based Examination(CBT)
- Tier-III: Pen and Paper Mode (Descriptive paper)
- Tier-IV: Skill Test/ Computer Proficiency Test/ Document Verification
Selection Process:
- All SSC CGL candidates have to appear in the Computer Based test (CBT) Tier-I which is compulsory
- Then candidates are shortlisted according as per the mark secured by them in their respective category. Those who secure mark above cutoff mark are allowed to appear in Tier-II exam.
- Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations will be conducted for all the candidates qualified in Tier-I.
- Tier-II consists of two papers, paper-I & paper-II which is compulsory for all candidates. However candidates shortlisted for Junior Statistical Officer (JSO)/Statistical Investigator, they need to appear for paerr-III and Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Account Officer, they need to appear paper-IV.
SSC has introduced minimum qualifying marks in SSC CGL 2022 Exam. Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, each Paper of Tier-II and Tier-III Examination are as follows:
- UR: 30%
- OBC/ EWS: 25%
- Others: 20%
